Things only true Flashaholics understand:
* We know not to look directly into the light, but sometimes do anyway.
* We know the difference between a Pila battery and CR123.
* We know the thrill of Lithium AA batteries because of their long life.
* We know what are lumens and lux.
* We know you can't convert Lux into Lumens, though some have tried and are resting comfortably at their local insane asylum chanting Ohm's law backwards in a dark room with a single lit candle.
* We now know we sometimes drop lights in toilets and urinals, and understand why it pains us. (We also know true Flashaholics do NOT wipe with old batteries, and we don't want to know if you do!)
* We know the happiness a new light brings.
* We know the pain of nicking our new light.
* We know the joy of giving birth to a new mod.
* We know the pride of showing pictures of our "incredibly bright child".
* We understand why we sometimes name our lights. Thus we know, if our flashlight answers, to get the hell out of the room. :devil:
We understand why people have EDC lights, sometimes three.
We understand why a light may cost us a days pay, or more.
We understand why we love lights, because most of us are afraid to admit the dark scares us. :candle:
We understand the need for throw lights, spot lights, and lights we just don't lend to our friends.
We understand why you have to hide lights from spouses or significant others.
We understand why every nook needs an "emergency" flashlight.
We understand batteries don't last forever when not in use, unlike most Radio Shack customers.
We believe rechargable batteries can really hear us when we yell at them to, "Hurry up and charge already!"
We know flashlights aren't just a hobby, but a fasination, an obsession, and perhaps to some, strange bedfellows. Again, we don't want to know!
We know polls can be silly and still answer useful and/or interesting questions.
We know an increasing number of people vote to "get me" in my polls.
We know more people will want to get me for starting this thread.
