Do they still make 1/2D batteries?

Just wondering about this. I got a flashlight in my collection today that was designed for two 1/2D size non-rechargable batteries. They're shown in a catalog circa 1972, but I haven't seen them recently.

Anybody still sell them? Does anything still use primary cell 1/2Ds?

The Magcharger does, and the discontinued SL-35x and SL-20x did. The sl-20x/LED aluminum model uses sub-c's...

Anyone? Eveready used to make them in alkaline versions.

sometimes radio shack can get wierd sizes. Other than thay, you'll have to start scouring the net and some electronic supply houses.

Good luck

If you cannot find 2 x 1/2 D cells for 1.5 nominal volts, perhaps you could use a standard D size Li cell (essentially, an oversized 123). These are around 3 volts, so close to your light's needs.

I think digikey sells them for around $ 15.

Why not a D carrier?

1/2 D + 1/2 D = 1 D.

True its not 'full power' but a 1/2 D battery would be ultra rare these days... and so expensive its not worth it I'll bet.

I'm thinking that my best bet's looking like an AA adapter. Can always change out the bulb so that's no big deal. Actually, this isn't a light I'll ever actually use, so the 1/2 D interest was more for historical purposes.
