Not sure of all the specs but I've been using this setup (with a standard L5) for over a year with no problems.

The L5 is rated ok to use with the C3 which is a 9v light, so yes it is ok IMHO

I use it also with no problems and it is a little brighter also!

As mentioned above, the KL5 is the stock head on the L5 which is a two cell light, so this is what it is designed for.

Someone tell me that when i asking him for use the Aleph tailcap.
:

"the 3xCR123 has internal battery resistance and will limit the current to the KL5. the 2xR123 do not have the same resistance and will not limit the current to the KL5 in a similar fashion. I am no expert on the electronics or batteries but I have my doubts as to the advisability of using the 2xR123 with the KL5"

Now i'm not sure....

Please someone know?

That quote is simply not true. Battery resistance is mostly negligable and does not limit current to the head in normal operation. 2xR123 or 3xCR123 are perfectly fine to use with KL5. However, 3xR123 may cause problems.

heh, I should comment on that graph....

I did that graph after some ppl were asking what the KL5 could run on.
This shows that the KL5 is perfectly safe on all those configurations,
why does it show that? The output is very close even though the voltages vary alot.
This means the KL5 is staying in good regulation with a variety of voltages.

The two Pilas ran it a bit higher for the first few minutes,
the circuit probably went into direct drive at the beginning.
I dont see this as a problem though.
