Greetings!

I saw an interesting news article about an online people-to-people lending marketplace. Kind of like eBay of sorts in which people list and bid on loans. Here's the link—

What are some of your thoughts on this?

Never heard of them, but checking out the site,I don't get what's the catch, where is the profit of the site? Still dont get it.

Anyone tried it?

The site makes the money on the difference between the amount you loan out and what they bid to pay, In the example a person wants a loan and is willing to pay 7%, others are willing to loan it at 5.5%, the site make sthe loan and keeps the difference.

Don't know if any of you have tried Lending Tree, but all it's good for is to avail yourself of excessive spam. Getting a loan? Forget it!!
