In "Tim the Tool Man" fashion, I think MORE POWER is almost always better.
My blue Inova Microlight uses a pair of CR2016 batteries. I took it apart, wedged an extra battery between the contacts, and it was definitely brighter.
I left it turn on in blinking mode on my desk over the weekend, and it was still going (very dimly) when I came in on Monday, so I'm pretty sure this over voltage won't kill it.
The only problem is that this setup won't fit back in the case. Has anyone tried the same trick with a set of three CR2012 batteries? They'd be slightly thicker than the stock pair of CR2016s, but will they still fit in the case?
