Jil is way smaller and lighter. Both are good quality. Runtime of the Jil varies by type. Jil DD runs many hours at 200cp tapering off (I've seen 10+ hours quoted) 1.3 up is brighter, but runs less time. Jil DD on Li-Ion RCR2 is way bright (approaching my HDS B42 on max) but for less time than on CR2 primaries.
Both have decent beams with semi-wide hotspots, but the Jil hotspot is wider.
The Jil uses CR2 battery versus the HDS CR123, so the HDS will have much longer runtime.
