I've searched but can't come up with definite answers to my question: can I run unprotected R123's without damage to the elctronics in my FireFly 1 and Aleph 2 (Nexgen 750)? I understand the risks of overdischarge to the cell but can these two light engines take 4.2V?

Thanks in advance!

The NG converter can take Li-Ions, but it will run in "pseudo-direct-drive" with lower drive currents selected ... but I think with 750mA you won't notice a difference.
However ... the NG will suck your unprotected cell dry like a desert, so this combo isn't really advised.
