I just stumbled onto this forum, and I'm glad to see that there are as many light freaks out there as there are. I too have always been attracted to just about anything that illuminates.

I just finished a home project using 5mm 10KMCD white LED's along with using 3mm 5K MCD blue and green LED's inserted into the soffet vents along the exterior of my home(29 points of illumination total, colors seperately switched).
It has an awsome effect.

My question is this........ is there a general conversion from MCD to Lumens?

Any information that could be provided would be welcomed.

BTW,

I ended up also doing HID conversions to my Motorcycle(Honda CBR1100XX) and my truck ( s-10 p/u ) along with LED replacements on the taillights, front turn signals, license plate lights, and cornering lights.

Welcome to CPF beondwacko!

You will need to know the beam profile of them in order to calculate how many lumen your LEDs can produce. I saw a very good comparison table for that that someone here at CPF had done. I'll try to find it...

That calculator worked great. The beam spread is 30 degree, and I appreciate the welcome from those who offered.

Thanks !
