I'm a cop in the uk and am in need of a bigger torch (flashlight to you over the pond) to go in my bag to supplement the one on my belt.

I kinda like the SF M3 but wanna go re-chargeable.
I've read a couple of posts by others and it seems that I should get the M3, 2x Pila 600s and an A19 extender.

Is this right or is there anything else I need as well?

Also what difference does the head make on the M3T as opposed to the M3, is it just the range of the beam?

(please forgive my ignorance i'm kinda new to the flashlight world, well up until now any cheap one would do me).

Welcome to the forums!

The M3 and M3T are great lights, but have you considered the 8NX, 8AX, and 9AN as alternatives? These are already rechargable and work very well.

Yes, you can do the modifications you stated and run other batteries to make the M3/M3T a rechargable one, but you will also need the appropriate chargers for LiIon/PILA cells, sometimes you will need special springs, etc..

And finally, the M3T and the M3 are identical except the M3T uses the larger bezel (with appropriate longer bulb) for more throw/distance.

This link will help you out M3, M3T vs A2 beams
Check out my post at the bottom with the links :grin2:

Compare the M3 & M3T beams HERE

The M3T as you will see is a tighter beam. A great thrower.
The M3 & M3T are Awesome.

Hope this helps!!
