From the link that cmeisenzahl posted above:

Anchorage, Alaska - Outhouse Races Every year during a Festival called Fur Rendevous, people bring their home made outhouses that they have decorated in various fashions downtown. One person has to be in the outhouse, and the others either push or pull it through the snow.

They also have snowshoe softball games. The people who are playing softball have to wear snowshoes. They also hold car races at the Fur Rondevous Festival. The track is downtown, and it is made of ice.

CPF's very own JOshooter and his University of Alaska Anchorage A.E.T club (Architectural, Engineering, & Technology) won 1st Place this year!!!!

---> Way to go JOshooter!!! <---

(think he should add this one to his resume? :toilet:  :ohgeez: )

i grew up in leland, mississippi, but now live in ohio. jim hensen, who created the "muppets" went to my school in leland. kermit the frog was modeled after a real person named kermit scott. he was our insurance agent. in those days, agents came by the house every month to collect the payment. our family( i was a teen)looked forward to kermits visit as he was very entertaining. the frog is just like him. http://www.msfb.com/news/Farmcountry/march04/Leland.html

Seeing there's lots of BIG stuff in this post, how about our giant koala!

Don't think I'll get a job with the tourism board with this effort... :)

We do have the Formula1 Grand Prix this weekend though!

Here in Washington (not pronounced "warshington"), our apples seem to be what makes our state great.
Then there's the world famous Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle.
Then there's the 605' tall Space Needle just a tick north of downtown Seattle.

I forgot to add that Seattle is home to Starbuck's Coffee too. :)

Shoals Indiana, Jug Rock.

Semi world famous, it has shown up on T-shirts and stuff. Just a little off the main road between Shoals and Logotee in Southern Indiana.
