Never tried 3 R123's, but it works great with 2 Pila 150S cells.

I have run one on the M4 that would be 12 volts but I have not run anything
on 3 RCR123's I would be afraid to stack 3 together. Well I do run 3 Pila's 168s together but I feel safe as they are protected.

So, have you run 3 x 168s' with a KL6? Same total V's as 3 x RCR123's but with shorter runtime.

No, I am sorry I did not explain myself well. I run a MN61 lamp in one of my M4's with 2 A19's and 3 168s Pilas. The L6 uses 2 150s with a Pila spring.
