I'm in the process of my first tri lux Mag build and I was just wondering if anyone could give me some Opinions on what they feel is the best set up for my situation. I'm putting together a Tri Lux with three LUXIII royal blue stars. Since i feel this is more of a toy I believe I would like Highest output verses longer runtime. I'm pretty much following this tutorial http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=85713 . What do you feel is the best battery setup.

I recently built a tri-lux head, basically following the same tutorial with a few differences. First, I used the new PTS2-D heatsink and a Shark driver to drive the three Lux3s.
(Currently available at the Sandwich Shoppe: http://theledguy.chainreactionweb.com/index.php?cPath=48&osCsid=dfeb8f91fe4d1e8774f974239e7264e2)
The PTS2 screws in as opposed to just dropping in place as in the tutorial. And the Shark driver allows use for a variety of input voltages, so I am not limited to direct drive. It also will maintain brightness as battery voltage drops and it has adjustable output current to the LED's so you can over/under drive them as desired. The other change I made was to use small screwdown terminals from Radio Shack to connect the wires instead of the disconnect in the middle of the wire that the tutorial uses.
