Just seeded parts of lawn a bit threadbare after cutting & scarifying, how to keep birds from eating seeds.

Placing some large teddies (Panda, Lion etc) on grass seems to work best.

Tied supermarket throwaway bags to long string also seems to work, noisy, fluttery, and shadow on grass simulates large bird overhead.

CD reflectors seem less of a deterrent.

Your ideas ?

Birds raped my newly seeded lawn a long time ago. It ended up growing in patches! :(

I recommend you visit a hardware store and buy some chicken wire and some stakes. That way, you can enclose the area from the hungry birds.

Cover with plastic. Keeps the soil moist so the seeds sprout faster too.

What my grandmother does :
- span a net over the place where the seeds are
- the trick of the plastic bags
- plus she has cats who will do the job if the two first things don't work ;)
