This weekend, I cleaned my work station up a bit... I love picture threads, so I thought this might be an interesting topic. Here's where I post from. Where do you post from? Show us your work space!

Thanks for looking,

My workspace at work as of June 2005:
workspace.vz.2005.jpg

36 square feet of productivity.

I've since moved about 20 paces away, but it hasn't changed too much. The never-used reference manuals are under the desk, replaced by newer, never-used manuals. Progress.

I might be moving again. Probably to another cube much the same, but hopefully to one about twice as large with higher walls... :D

Another workspace at a previous job:
workspace.comco.jpg

Far more information to work with there, same floorspace and a bit less counterspace. I did engineering, design, every flavor of documentation, no small amount of desktop publishing with Word & Acrobat, drafting, and was the "IT guy." I miss the job, but not so much the environment and miserable paychecks.

Delvance,

It's pretty comfortable... I used to be able to smoke at my desk, but since the wife quit, I've been exiled to the back patio.

PGP,

Yep, those are sweets catalogs. A full set from 2003. I'm an estimator and our office gets a new full set every year. I though it would be nice to have around for house project ideas.

idleprocess,

Is that Autocad up on your screen in the second photo?

Manzerick,

Thanks, those shelfs were dead-easy. Just some precut oak pieces from Lowe's, glued, tacked, drilled and screwed to the wall. If you ever make one, don't use the poplar that Lowe's has, it's cheaper, but it's too soft for a shelf.

LEDMaster2003,

Nice velvet Elvis you have there.

powernoodle,

Looks like a meth lab to me :tsk:

jtice,

Very nice setup. I like the shop too.

Everyone,

Nice shots, thanks.

When I posted this thread, it actually didn't occur to me that "work space" might be someone's cubical. I was thinking more about your setups at home... Still, it's cool to see the office shots as well. I'm sure many of us post from work all day long :sssh:

Yeah. The elvis pic was my aunt's until she passed away in '97. (R.I.P.)
My comp specs:
This is one I built myself! (in the build-your-own computer class)

Pentium 4 3.0GHz
100GB HDD + 80GB HDD (from my previous comp.)
SB Audigy z2
ATI x1800 Graphics card
Altec Lansing 5.1 Surround speakers
LG Flatron L1970HR LCD monitor (if you wand a good LCD, go with these! The images are crystal-clear and the colors are vibrant beyond belief. Games like Doom3 and HL2 really pop out atcha!)
CD-r/DVD Rom drive

Two monitors are very useful to side-compare different versions of the same file (as in different languages, for example). You can also run a model in one screen and simultaneously keep tabs of the output on the other.

The second monitor was the most useful upgrade to my computer system that I have ever made.
I can do more things at once, and faster than ever.

I do ALOT at once, and have alot running at once,
I cant STAND using single monitor systems anymore.

And no,,, I am not stopping at four ;)

I plan to have a 6 LCD monitor setup some day.
