Before I start wasting aluminum in the shop I thought I'd see what people thought of my personal light

Roughly 6.25" long
It is a DD light right now, But I made the heatsink and battery contact large enough so that if they are removed you could install a heatsunk driver.

I like it! I'm not turned off by the hex cross section at all. I'd like to see this one built. thoughts: a little too spikey at the tail. Grooves cut to make cooling fins would look really cool on the hex cross sec. Easy: cut grooves on lathe. Hard: mill the slots parallel with the sides.

Very cool!

Great looking design but I'm wondering how comfortable it will be to hold with the large diameter differences between both ends and the battery tube.
It looks like an adult might only be able to wrap 2 fingers around the middle part of the light.
