Just having fun with one of the Target special Dorcy 1 watters. Cut a piece of sprinkler pipe wide enough to hold AA's long enough to match 3D's. Added cardboard spacers to center it and a 3/8" x 1" wide head bolt to make up the 24 mm length difference between 3AA's and 3D's. Wrapped the bolt to center it in the tube and voila. With nimh's hot off the charger, it looks like it's running about as bright as it does with 3 pretty fresh D cells.
