Hey Guys,

I'm looking to get a new L4, but I want to make sure I get the right one.
I've been looking on Ebay and some are listed as 65 lumens while a few are listed as 100 lumens.

I know the one on the Surefire sight is rated for 100 lumens.
Is there a generation difference here that I'm missing?
Are the newer ones 100 while the older are 65?? Any markings that will distinguish one from the other?

Thanking you in advance!!!

Ray

Thanks Ront,

I just wanted to be 100% sure before dropping a nice chunk of
cash on this.

Yeah, I'm the one who emailed Surefire asking them why they changed their ratings for all their LED lights. They replied that they are using "new measuring equipment specifically made for LEDs" and thus, the new ratings. They are no different from before. I asked because I was about to order a L5 which I did.

@KDOG, what's the serial number on your L5 head? I just got mine from OpticsHQ and it's one of the original runs (older assemblies) serial# A0189x.
My L4 I purchased Oct '04 is Serial# A1675x.

Seems kinda weird they'd have 2-3yr old lights just hanging around in inventory.
