How far away can you see a CD lit by your torch? Or reflective car number plate.

I've never tried it with a cd but I live behind several large fields that border a main road and on a good night with low humidity my Surefire L1 will illuminate the reflective tape on the stop sign at the end of the road. Its around a half mile to the stop sign. My Streamlight ProPolymer's will do it even better.
