badboy 400, luxeon 1,runtime question

how long will a BADBOY 400, powering an LUXEON 1, powered with 2xD size alkaline battery`s run for.

I am more interested in runtime more than brightness

does anybody know.

If the question was about a MM driver, I would say it would run the light for two weeks. BB wants to provide constant current regulation, and two alkaline D cells, while of high mA capacity start dropping voltage fast under load, and pretty soon delivering 400mA to the led at 3 volts or so, starts demanding more and more from the cells. The cells end of trying to deliver much more current than 400mA's. That said, you will still get several days of visible light, after regulation drops off.
