Yeah, the lumens are out of line. I have one and its is a pretty bright light. Quality and finish is good. I was lucky in being a multiple luxeon lottery winner. Remember that you have to win all three!

I have one that rides around in the truck as well & like it a lot.
Mine is sleeved for 4 "C" cells, wakes it right up...

Hmmm..sleeved? The 4 C's won't burn it up? What's the sleeve made of? I have access to a machine shop where I work (I'm not a machinist, but one of them owes me a favor )

If you can get significant machine shop services, you might consider having a tube extension made so it can hold 4 D cells. THAT will wake this light up and give a power supply to match it's design. Otherwise, it's resistored to drive the LEDs pretty conservatively. I don't think you would consider it bright unless you put in 4xC nimh's, otherwise.

Not that significant. It would be nice, tho...

The sleeve can be a small section of PVC tube (1 inch I.D., about 7 inches long).
I was going to get one of these lights and run it with the mod, but I stumbled across an EL Tri-Star Phazer on eBay. I'm very happy with it and the mod is supposed to run the Nuwai at about the same brightness.

If the mod does make output in the TSPhazer class, then here are a couple of posts with beam shots:
