I went to Fry's Electronics and saw some Rechargeable batteries and thought would my L6 work with rechargeable lithium batteries? i dont know but do they, would they make my light brighter, would it change runtime make it longer more consistent? Thanks

Your L6 will be happy with 2x 17500 rechargeable 3.6 volt. I have L6 with 2 of unprotected 17500, it maintains the same brightness as 3 x CR123.

Nope, I would not go for rechargable 123A ! (3 cells)
17500 is 1.5 time longer than 123A, so you need only 2 cells.

This is the easiest way;
http://www.lighthound.com/sales/unprotected_lithium_batteries.htm

What you need is 2 of 17500 + DSD charger + 2 of 15 mm copper charging spacer.

I never test protected cells with L6 as I prefer higher capacity. For protected cell, you can double check with lighthound.

Yep you are right and you will longer runtime with the 17500s too, they are rated at 1100 mAh!
