Default Good quality "Slide" switch flashlights?

I would like to locate some good quality slide switch flashlights, slide meaning like the old type flashlights that were turned on by sliding a side switch forward to turn it on. These would preferbably be in 2C cell or 1 or 2 AA cell types. I don't know if any used a three position switch, forward for on, center for off and I don't know what for reverse position, maybe a red tail light, but that would be ideal for what I have in mind.

I'd like to convert one over to a two stage LED with forward being full power, middle off and reverse low power. Seems like it would be very intuitive to use that way. I've saw a few incadescence lights that had forward and off but nothing using three positions. Water resistance might be a problem and I'll have to look into that.

Thanks for giving this some thought.

How about a military anglehead flashlight? Elektrolumens makes the AngleLux...

This probably isn't of any help, but the ones that are of good quality used to be on the Streamlight SL20 (the pre-86 versions). I have a pair of those and I've replaced the switch on one (only because I had broken some plastic off of the edge of the switch), and those lights are probably close to 25 years old now.

Good ideal Carrot. Elektrolumens had the 2D size. Looks like nice work. I did some searching and found thousands of 'em. Well, in 2D size that is. I finally found a 2C size and 2AA size real reasonably priced. They were angle heads instead of straight but I ordered them anyway since they were very cheap. I found several straight styles in 2D size but wanted to keep the light smaller than that. If anyone comes across a military style or similar straight tube in 2C size with good slide switches drop me a line.

I checked out the streamlight but could only find the new version and they're HUGE for my purpose. Thanks for the input thou Brighteyez.

    Thanks...

    Connor
