Modified Quiqlite

Hi *,

just got a quiqlite 2x5mm white Leds from makar.

Nice little light, but everthing can be made better.

I thought there is no need for one then two white
LEDs, because the eye is not linear and therefore
you hardly see any difference.

I decided to give a 5mm warmwhite LED with approx. 10mA
and as the second one a 5mm 26kCd LED direct drive a go.

The warmwhite has a nice warm color and is at a level
which is equal for me to preserve night vision like a
red led. Then the second 26k Led comes on and the
quiqlite is brighter than e.g. an ARC AAA.

And here modified with 5mm warmwhite and 0805 SMD 240OHM resistor and
DD 26k LED.

Thanks for the pics and info! I just modded my Quiqlite as well. It has a red and a white led, but the white led was quite bad from the start and the power on it dropped very fast (after 5 min. runtime it was hardly working) so I swapped it with one white led from a dealextreme keychain light (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1253). Finally works as it's supposed to!
