I have used an A19+6P (using 2 AAs) to power a P30 LA before. The length of three CR123 is the same as two AAs in series....with four A19 & the U2 body, I would have sufficent length for four AAs

If you're trying to save money by not having to buy 123's check out the vendor listing on the CPF Specials thread (sticky on the dealer's forum); some vendors have those for $1 or so. ;)

Why not a 18650 rechargeable cell instead? (Or Pila 168A?)

I'm not even sure an A19 will fit on a U2.

Thanks...you are correct, the A19 doesn't fit the U2...gonna kill the idea.

I'm not trying to save on the 123s, but trying to find different types of cells to power the U2.

Its a pity my U2 comes with the plastic sleeve that prevent me from using the 18650.

I tried the freezer/hot water method to no avail....anyone else got anything to recommend to remove the plastic sleeve
