G2 O-ring

I have a UCL on my G2 and when I take the lens washer off the bezel is flush with the top. What is the purpose of the washer and is there any reason not to take it off so the bezel is flush again.

Washer? Like for water resistance? If you remove it, it may leak or allow moisture in.

Here is a link to a similar post concerning the bezel not being flush when using the UCL window.http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=115706 I would rather it be water tight and stick out a little than to have it flush and leak. JMOO.

The UCL is slightly thicker than the stock Lexan window. This means the window-retaining ring cannot be screwed all the way down into the bezel. You want to keep it, because otherwise the UCL could come out on its own-- and for water resistance, as Jumpmaster mentioned.
