Im pretty sure I read somewhere that the yellow models are GID.

The yellow ones are not GID, but they do fluoresce bright yellow under long wave UV light.

I added the glow paint myself, although it was pretty poorly done, due to the inaccessability of the luxeon. I had to be very careful not to paint on the LED, and tried to cover as little of the reflector as possible. Still looks cool, though. I might try the paint on the rim of the reflector if I get another. There'd be less interference with the beam.
