Angstrom Power Inc created a Luxeon I flashlight that runs on hydrogen::rock:

Key Features

  • Greater power, longer runtime
Micro hydrogen™ powered flashlight outlasts battery-powered flashlights of similar size running at constant power. Twenty four hours on a single charge.
  • Simple to use
Standard flashlight operation, including ON-OFF switch with standby mode. Light output stays constant and does not dim like battery-powered flashlights.
  • Fast refueling
The A2 uses a proprietary on-board metal hydride storage system. Refueling takes only minutes. The Angstrom R1 Refueling Station provides economical refueling from standard sources of compressed hydrogen. Future A2 models can be refueled in the field using a portable cartridge.
  • State-of-the-art Luxeon technology
The high brightness 1 Watt Luxeon LED produces white light with 10X the brightness of similar LEDs for the same amount of power.

Just thought if anyone know where would be a good place to look for it. No prices were given on the site and it came out for a few months now...

Similar to carrying a CO2 cartridge [hydrogen tank] and a few paintball grenades [give or take the weight of the converter] on you in a match...

its definitely a step foward into "battery free operation" no battery, no capacitor, only hydrogen
