ARC LS IC

I've got an ARC LS board that is missing it's IC - does anyone know what can be used in it?

The last models used a Linear Technology LT1618 converter chip. I think Digi-Key sells them for about $3 each.

LT used to send out free samples of this chip to individual hobbiests who asked nicely. It's worth a try. Make sure you know which way to install it before soldering it in. It's all too easy to put it in backwards, which makes a tiny fussy job take twice as long.
