Anodizing cannot do 'white' - powder coat can.

this is white powder coat over the regular anodize finish, all the threaded areas were masked off

enjoy

This is purple candy powder coat. The modified light was turned down completley, the coating is over natural aluminum finish. The standard light was over the blue anodized finish.

Why does the finish look bumpy? Is it a texured power coat?

Re: White maglite - powder coat

This was my first attempt at powder coat, it came out reasonably well. The first coat did not cover completely , I put on a second. That is why the slight orange peel look, I kinda like it like that.

Cool! Now it matches my refrigerator :D

I've seen a few hardware stores around here that carry powder coat paint, but the only gun i've ever seen was the one they guy brought that we hired to repaint our fridge when I was a kid. It was quite an interesting device with a spinning nozzle and electrical cords and clips (I vaguely remember that it's electrostatic that attracts the powder to the thing being powdered?)

How do these guns work and how do you happen to have one? :)
