The same KL5 offered as an accesory for a Surefire 6P is offered for a 9P, Then, the KL5 can handle 6~9 Volts, is this right?

gariel,

The NEW KL-5, yes. Apparently something changed to allow 3-9 volts to the NEW KL-5 head. Although the Surefire brochure said it was ok, apparently the OLD KL-5 head could be damaged by 9v, and we were all warned not to use it on a 3-cell light. Some have done so without adverse effect but I have not had the courage. "Big Al" (Size15s) is aware of this and has confirmed this as well. Whether he has the exact reasons for this or not, I couldn't say.

Hope this helps.

jtice did some runtimes on the KL5 including 3xCR123 and 2xLi-Ion and it basically showed good regulation in all configurations. I am using mine on those combos and it works well.
