I just got a Dorcy super 1 watt and took it apart. Is there a 3 or 3+ watt led that could be put in there? Its the 1X123 battery version. Seems pretty easy to do. Thanks

It should be a simple replacement job. The Dorcy pretty much unscrews and the Star is not fastened.
But swapping a 3W will only yield an underdriven 3W light. The regulator circuit must be modded to supply the necessary amperage to reach 3W operation. I'm assuming you haven't considered this yet.

I figured the circuit needs modding, that shouldnt be hard. I'm still trying to figure out how it comes apart. I assume the black peice just pushes in. ???

The black part on the top of the body is just a press fit.
It comes out real easy.

Oh, and then use a dowel through the body, from the bottom, to push out the board and retaining collar.
