Can SL PP 4AA Luxeon run on Energizer Lithium AAs without damage?

Considering the atypical beam of pure throw no flood this light has, I've decided to shelve it in my roadside emergency kit...AAs cant tolerate high temperature changes and I wanted a leakproof battery type that can be stored for long periods of time.

Officially, according to SL, no lithiums. So at your own risk.

Unofficially, lithiums work fine. Several forum members, including myself, have used Energizer lithiums with no problems at all. I don't know if there was any extra runtime, my mind had other priorities.

On another note, SL has also said that rechargeables aren't recommended. Rechargeables are pretty much all I've used. I figure that even if rechargeables destroy the light(they won't) and SL refuses to replace it, with the amount of alkies I would have burnt through so far, I probably could have bought ten new lights.

Standard disclaimer here: Following my advice is at your own risk, I hold no responsability for any damage of any sort you experience.

Cheers. :buddies:
