meter led?

hi

I have some meters, like vom, swr etc . they came with a axial , long tube kinda bulb at the bottom of the meter, and provided some even illumination

what type of led solution might work for this application?

tried a few led's but they just have a spot effect no matter how i try and diffuse them

any ideas welcome

hi

i was kinda hoping that someone might know of a led that is simular to a axial /tube like bulb

or some way to make a light pipe reflect up"" and maybe i could jurry rig it
