The Ever-Led is the only one I know of that can do 2-6 cells.

That said, I would recommend the Diamond drop-in with two dummy cells over the Ever-Led.

Or possibly the MagLed 4 cell with one dummy cell.

Ok, since I am not all that knowledgeable with electronics and fear the mysterious blue smoke. What would occur if he used the new Mag Led Module for 4 cells with 5 cells, would it fry it? Shorten its life span? Or simply not work?

If he sticks in some sort of dummy cell, or conductive spacer, he should be fine :). The fact that Mag has separate SKUs for each model light would make me a little leary of sticking an additional alkaline battery into the mix for a specific module.

Don't get nervous, they're not being selective with you, seems that no one else is getting any replies either. Seems that there was some site that was a block away from the that disappeared not too long ago. I think their last item of interest around here was that Golsten 7W or something. Don't know if this outfit is related to the other one (no offense to the folks in Blaine, but it's not exactly a metropolis.)

I suppose you could try calling them to see if anyone is answering the phones. I think they have an 800 number, but these days, it looks like all cell phones have toll free long distance anyway.

I purchased my DB-3W from led-replacement, no problems what-so-ever!

http://www.led-replacement.com

Terralux makes the replacement. It is a stand-up company that has backed the purchasers of products they did not manufacture and had problems. The new product line uses the K2. I am not sure how much better those are than the DB-3W, but will say that the DB-3W stomps all over the Ever-Led and the the stock bulb for sure.

Do some searches on the DB-3W and you will see how many are thrilled with the product. For that matter see the reviews on flashlightreviews.

FYI, "maximum lumens" will not be cheap. You won't get 100 or 200+ lumens for $50.
