Engine Help

Hey,

I have been having some issues with my bike lately :thumbsdow , I've searched but can't find the exact problem. I have a VTX-1300 with V&H pipes, a hypercharger and a stage 1 jet installed. The problem is when the engine is warming up, it pops and backfires when I go to accelerate. It is much worse in cooler weather, but will do it in warm weather to some degree. When it warms to running temps it seems to smooth out, but will still get a little rough at high RPM's. Plugs look a little dark, but well within acceptable ranges by most standards. Any ideas before I head to a shop to spend money on this? Thanks for any help guys.

If it has a carb, I would say the symptoms sound similar to a carb leak...had a Jeep before with a bad casting. Replaced the carb and aforementioned problems were corrected.

(I am stupid about bikes...but I'm thinking of buying one to deal with gas prices. Used to ride one years ago, but...not familiar with what's out there now...)

Timing may be off, also sounds like a vacuum leak.
