My father's day present this year is going to be a Vector Manufacturing TUFF BRITE 6-VOLT LANTERN which is a cordless rechargeable (i.e., off 110 VAC or 12 VDC). Initially, I thought I got a dud. I plugged it in and nothing. Little glow from the LED lite, nothing from the flood light, and, contrary to the instruction manual, the led indicator was flashing, not solid when plugged in to house current.

They tell you in the instructions to initially charge it for 28 hours, which ended 20 minutes ago. The LED indicator eventually went solid, indicating charging, and both lights seem to work. A couple of questions:

1. How long should the 6-volt sealed acid battery last? I mean can be recharged?
2. The large bulb is an H36-volt, 15 watt quartz halogen. How many lumens does it put out?

I would like to hear any experiences that other CPF members have had with this unit.

Thanks
