Hello,
I really need a horizontal holster for my lovely Surefire.
I looked at the Spec ops, Maxpedition and the 75tactical(KHS) Holster.

Does the spec ops have the horizontal option?

Which one would you choose?

Thanks

Link posted above.

It uses velcro to keep it closed.

Haven't seen any other horizontal holsters that will allow the holster to stay open and still retain the light.

This is not a tactical holster.
I need a holster, which I keep open (but safe) for quick access.
It also should have the option to close the holster.

Maybe you'd like to email Blackhawk and tell them that? :)

The Maxpedition one doesn't fit your criteria either, from what I can tell. I guess if the elastic is substantial enough around the outside of it, it might work but I wouldn't trust it. It also doesn't appear to be able to keep the flap open all the time.

Good luck.

This one shall be very good. But it's also not very soft(strong nylon webbing)
It is also very open(not very 9p friendly)

Does someone have the spec ops or 75tactical holster?

Links would be helpful here. I've had a couple of specops holsters (none I have had will hold them securely while open) and have no idea what a "75tactical holster" is.

Well, like I said, I've never seen one of the type you describe.

The Maxpedition one looks like you can remove the flap, but not leave it on and have it secured open.

75tactical(aka KHS) is a german manufacture.

hmm ...

I can't believe, that there is no holster out there which can fulfill my requirements...

uh yeah ... that a glorious idea ;)

So I have to limit my focusing on the 75tactical holster? I would prefer a better quality manufacture ... don't leave me in the pass

You might be able to fold the flap behind/in the belt loop temporarily and then pull it back out for more secure carry. Also the adjustable velcro wrap strap should keep it in securely (by the looks of it holding the expandable baton).

I'm not sure about holding the flap back, but I'll let you know when I get mine. One of these is going on my duty rig.

Now these two Maxpedition models:
Single Sheath
5" Tube Sheath

Only the single sheath has a removable velcro and just can be use in vertical position.

I'm worring, that my 9P is too long for the models(when I keep it open)

An important fact:
It must be possible to holster it with the bezel!

i made one for my 6z out of kydex. its really easy. i heated a 2 inch wide peice and wrapped it around my belt. i left extra hanging down and rolled the flashlight up until it covered about three quarters of the light . it snaps in and snaps out and has lasted a year on my duty belt.

Where can you order Kydex in NON commercial amounts?

I'm interested in doing this with a few items for my duty belt.
