Curious thing that the blister pack show a place holder for a battery but none is included. But its ok considering i only paid $41 for a great light. Head gets heats up faster than the L2P, i would say about 5-10°C warmer after 2 min.
Beam is slightly blueish, which i prefer compared to the greenish tint of the L2P.
Comparing the 2 lights, my conclusions are;
P1
+ Small enough for EDC.
+ Brighter and better tint. (tho some people may prefer greenish tint =p)
+ Comes with useful and tough key ring.
+ More reliable twist switch.
- Finish is more slick, feels cheaper. (personal preference)
L2P
+ ~6 hours flat regulated on lithiums.
+ Easily available AA when batteries run out.
+ Finish feels matte. (personal preference)
- Greenish tint makes beam seem even less bright to my eyes.
- Not suitable for EDC in pocket.
- Known problems with click switch after moderate use. Some people have experienced faulty switches. Tho i have not experienced this, the rubber switch cap on mine inflates like a balloon when there is gas buildup after continueous usage of about 30 min.
L2P on E² Lithiums, P1 also on Energizer Lithium. All fresh batteries.
Photos are at 3m and balanced from the brighter of the 2 beams.
<L2P< vs >P1>
Against Streamlight PP Lux 3C which in my opinion has the perfect throw beam and tint. My benchmark light which i compare all others against.
<PP 3C< >P1>
