can a kl3 fit on a 3p?

i have a modded 3p like and i was wondering if the kl3 would work on the 3p. would the single cell even power it? how long would the battery last? pics would be nice to. i will take all advice.

I have gen 1 KL3 that's been modded to a reflector with a 3 watt. It runs fine on one 17650. So my guess is that yours will work ok if you use a R123. A primary 123 probably wouldn't get you into regulation and you'd run the whole time in the dim tail of light that leds have as batteries die. Just a guess.

I tried running on 1x123 primary on a lark one day - didn't even try to light up.

KL3 will not run on a primary 123 cell. It will light up with an R123 but YMMV depending on the Vf of the LED. If you get lucky and get a low Vf, it will run in regulation for a little while.

i just ran my KL3 (gen2 rev3) with a single, freshly charged protected rcr123... lit up, output looked the same as with two cells.

Please, post pictes of a P3/KL3 combo, i'd like to see that :)
