That pops up here every now and then. It seems to me that the had "5 in stock" the last time I looked at the site several months ago.

Their description is full of fallacies.
Specs:

  • Wide Angle flood beam
  • 3 x White = 175 lumen / 6 x White = 350 lumen
  • Latest generation high power quartz LEDs
  • Machined billet aluminum Lens/Heatsink
  • Two-Mode operation
  • Consumes near 12w (6 LEDs full on)
  • NiMH batteries recommended for improved brightness and runtime
eLUX™ is the only state-of-the-art programmable LED technology for Maglite® flashlights. Light lumens (LUX) are generated electronically (LED) instead of from heat as in a traditional bulb. LEDs are virtually indestructible with no hot filament to burn out or fail from shock- outlasting original incandescent bulbs by over 100,000 hours.

Multicolor eLUX™ LED replacement bulbs fit any C or D cell Maglite® flashlight. Microprocessor power pulse regulation "squeezes" an additional 140% of power before discarding batteries significantly extending flashlight runtimes.

eLUX™ bulbs utilize exclusive DPLM (Digital Programmable Light Modulation) technology. They are the first and only LED conversion to offer full programmability, true regulated hue/brightness, near 90% energy efficiency and 3-in-1 color bulbs.

Design Advantages:

  • LED bulb array lasts 4000% longer then factory 12 hour incandescent bulbs
  • Latest generation "true" white LEDs

Definition of white?
Basically they're arguing if 100,000+12 = 40 x 12, then 100,000 must equal 480.

My favorite quote from the web site:

"Exposure to light frequencies, even for a brief period, can damage your eyes."

Fortunately, dark frequencies are safe. ;-)

No mention of heatsinking either.
It looks like the leds are mounted to the board behind the faceplate.

Looks like that description was written by a technology inept 98 year old woman who thinks the earth is flat. :lolsign: "Quartz LED's"??
"Machined billet aluminum Lens/Heatsink" ( Transparent Aluminum?)
