I would like to attemp to build a flashlight with the folowing specs.
A. Inculding the head no wider than an arc aaa and no longer than two arc aaa,s front to back.
B. O-ring sealed, twist on and off.
C. Three of the brightest 5 mm leds mounted as close together as possable and overdriven a bit.
D Regulated and stepped up voltage.
E. built with the same quality as a arc aaa.
Is this doable and how long of a run time would I have.Would anyone be willing to build this for me (for $$$ of course). Please forgive the spelling.Any comments would be helpful.
Thanks Trent

I think you would have a dificult time getting 3x5mm LEDs into that small a diameter. If you chose to use 3x3mm LEDs, you would have much more chance of fitting them in the described circle. they are as bright, just have a much wider beam than the 5mm.

The other difficulty would be to have a step-up regulator in that diameter. I don't know how Peter does it...You might email dat2zip about a board for this purpose.

Mechanically, there are several people on the list who can do this, myself included. I don't do electronics, just the mechanical parts.
