Re: HELP! WTB: Build me an Aleph Flupic Light Engine, i have all the parts!!

Questions: Does the flupic fit in the E-can? Does it need potting epoxy? Are the connections marked on the board so I know what to solder where? If not diagram?

I've built 6 LE's before. They do take a good amount of time and lots and lots of AA epoxy.

How's $20 and I'll pay for shipping back?

Re: HELP! WTB: Build me an Aleph Flupic Light Engine, i have all the parts!!

I've built quite a few of them and they do require some care and lots of time. That is why i've stopped doing it.

Firstly, you'll need to sand very very little off the sides of the flupic board because it is a nice tight snug fit.

Also, file away two little notches, 180 degrees apart so that nothing touches the positive led and the other notch is for the ground connection.

Anyways, feel free to PM me if anyone decides to take this up. Cheers!

55mm=over 2" in diameter!!! Do you mean 5.5mm?

Goldserve: Ah I get it, like in this picture? Is the led negative common ground? Does the screw terminal one work ok to just solder to instead?

I'm not quite getting what you mean. The LED -'ve is a common ground so you can use that. Screw terminals? :huh2:

I was saying, if it was 55mm, (really big) it would need screw terminals.

Its alot smaller, so instead all ive done is make a mess of nice people trying to give a hand.

IsaacHayes, ive sent you bi polar PM'S. Please only read the last one sent. Sorry for the confusion, i was sending things back and forth and got confused. Anyway, .... Thanks again

PM replied. I answered all my questions. Good thing you were joking on the screw thing, I was at a loss to find any mention of them! I have a dremel to clearance the e-heatsink for the postive pcb hole.

Let me know. If I don't respond, it's cause I left to go to pump some iron! ;)

Watch it....the Aleph ES-CANS are very very tough...i find a hand squared file works better than my dremel. Maybe I don't have the right bit....

I'll use a hax-saw to start the slot like the ground slot as always, then enlarge it. No worries. All PM's replied as of now. Off to the gym before they close!
