arc aaa question

trying to figure something out here. I just bought a premium arc aaa from arc, for a total price of $44 shipped, yet I see them selling on a regular basis for $49 with around $8 shipping on ebay...and lighthound. Usually lighthound and ebay have lower prices than are offered from the man. websites. Were these out of stock for a while or something?

$39.95 plus $4.05 priority mail shipping is normal from ARC.

Yes, they were backordered for quite awhile, at one time for 2-3 months. Demand was much greater than production. I remember an announcement that they were shipping within 2 weeks, but I'm pretty sure that they're even more current than that now.
