The 4AA holder on my Garrity Steel beam fits a Cheapo Energizer 2D light. Haven't tried it with a Mag-Lite yet.

I think this is the 4AA holder at BatteryHolders.com

The Steel Beam one has brass contactcs, with a nipple on the positive side. I think it is about .5mm longer and .5mm wider, but should fit many D-Cell lights!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Many cheap flashlights have a larger battery compartment. Mag Lite has a smaller I.D. diameter. (This is so the batteries do not rattle.) I have already tried the battery holder you mention, and it is too big for any aluminum flashlight I've tried.

It will, however, fit the 2 D cell version of the Garrity flashlight mentioned, so you can go 12 volts in it.
