My couple of month old ARC P (AAA) just stopped working any ideas or should i just return it to Peter?
Have tried cleaning the contacts and replacing the battery.
I turned it on and after 10 seconds it went from bright to dead.
Thanks

Did you clean inside the batt tube, the solder blob, and the threads?

Did you try completing the circuit without the body (you have to touch the (+) end of the batt to the bottom of the head, and using a paper clip or a piece of wire, connect the (-) end of the battery with the head. If the problem persists there, you may have a faulty ground.

Try those (if you haven't yet) and we'll take it from there.

Then I'm assuming a faulty ground. Try this (that's how I re-do crimps now):

  • Peel the foam off.
  • Place the head on a phonebook, at an angle.
  • Hammer (yes, hammer) the crimp further down. Work your way around the head, slowly changing the angle so that by the end the head is almost horizontal again (LED side down is what I'm trying to say). You don't need extreme force, don't really want to break anything.
  • If that doesn't work, use a flat screwdriver and tap the crimp even further down in 2-3 places around the head (onto the board).
...or, skip the hassle and send it back to Peter.
...or, somebody else... :help:

:ohgeez:Here's another idea... the solder blob on the head needs to be raised; it may not be making contact... no, wait, you tried bypassing that by using the wire thing... did you take the foam out while doing that?
