Be realistic, it would be 609 lm/W.
Allegro is an auction system well known in Poland. A lot of other "bargains" if you browse it through more carefuly.

Not even close
31 lumens
3.4V
20mA

3.4V * 0.02A = 0.068W
31 lumens with 0.068W is 456 lu/W

Those LEDs would be more than 100% efficient at converting electricity to light

I call BS. Notice that the 10K mcd rating is "maximum". Good luck getting one even close to that.

Either their included angle is wrong, or their brightness measurement is wrong.

Yes, they are definitely swindiling in one way or another. It's either 1000mcd at 140 degrees, or 10,000 mcd at 20 degrees, but not both.

How many lumens is realistic for best 20mA white led ????? Is superflux much more better in lumens that normal 5mm led ??

Just had a look at the link to ebay superflux leds I would be careful as they say In excellent condition Does that mean the LEDS have been used?

USed not used >?
The worse thing is that these leds may have 5000mcd and 90 angle not 12000mcd and 140

See this thread. Right now 2 to 3 lumens at 20 mA is typical for most of what is for sale on eBay. The better LEDs such as the BestHongKong 40,000 mcd or the Jeled 50,000 mcd can be between 4.5 and 5.5 lumens. Nothing I've tested to date does better than that. Nichia's 100 lm/W LEDs slated for release late this year will probably manage about 6.5 lumens at 20 mA. Cree's recent 131 lm/W lab sample would have given 8.38 lumens at 20 mA assuming a Vf of 3.2V (typical for Cree dice). I personally don't see that white LEDs at 20 mA will ever exceed 15 lumens, and even reaching that mark would mean a luminous efficiency of roughly 230 lm/W, and a power to light conversion efficiency of ~70%. The specs given on eBay for the LEDs you mentioned are exaggerated by a huge margin. They are physically impossible.

Is superflux much more better in lumens that normal 5mm led ??
For a given die maybe slightly better since the die would be somewhat cooler but nothing to write home about. Superflux LEDs generally have somewhat better lumen maintenance than 5mm due to the lower operating temperature which is their main advantage.

I think that these leds with 40000 or 50000mcd are rather with bad ratio lumen/W better are these with big angles, I think because these with 10 angle are made for marketing ! because of big numbers ! Better is 5 cd and 100 angle than 40 cd and 20 angle !
http://led.linear1.org/lumen.wiz

5 cd with 100 angle is 11 lumens !

For ebay these leds are not so bad because buyers give good opinions ! maybe have half of mcd that are at ebay in the text of auction....

Try some of these. 15 lumens at 80mA. Cut version 180 degree. Uncut version 35 degree. Many CPF members upgraded their mini maglites with just 1 SMJLED.

Remember a standard household lamp is 360 degree. LEDs are from 180 degree to 10 degree putting more light where the LED is pointed.
I got one of these flashlights called My LittleFriend. 3x3watt 200+ lumens 10 degree beam angle.
When I point it at the ceiling to get 360 degree light, it is about as bright as a 9W compact flouresent (~40W incandesent)
When I point it at the kitchen counter, The kitchen counter is brighter than when I have my 23W compact flouresent (~100W incandesent). But it is dark behind me.

Most lightbuls using LED arrays (18 to 50 LEDs) are 25 to 50 lumens. To get brighter bulbs multiple 1W luxeons/cree/jupiters have to be used.

I don't know that to say !? Beacause I have 100 led from auction which was buyed year ago teorethical 16000mcd/20 angle/ 20mA. And this light was like 50W halogen 60 angle 12V from phillips .... Now superflux are much better and normal 5mm too. All power leds are smaller lumen to watt.... but you don't must to solder 100 leds....

I don't understand why people like these luxeons etc... These leds are bad, their lumen to watt is small etc...

If exist superflux led with real 5000mcd and 120 angle 20mA then her efficiency is 225lm/W...
