120 Lumen, World\'s Brightest Pocket Light

Well, I finally did it! I finally constructed a small pocket light, using a cyan 5 watt Luxeon Star, a 9V battery, etc.

Photos and a detailed description tomorrow.

It's late, I'm tired and off to bed. (Yes, I do sleep, sometimes.)

Sorry guys (gals),

I was wiped out last night. I'll have something up shortly.

It sleeps on an aluminum sled,
with the 5 watt emitter at the head,
The 9 volt battery is in a plastic bed,
To the onlookers eyes it is a dread!

As I always say, Direct Drive, Baby!

Here is a beam shot of the just mentioned 5 watt flashlight, in comparison to a lambertian 1 watt, direct drive, in a 3 D cell flashlight with fresh batteries:

This little Zorch is just a little bit brighter! Well, maybe more than a little bit. It is a bright little thing!
