On impulse i ordered a new version KL3 head in GREEN! coz I already have lots of white ones and rather than going the just put in a filter route guess it would
be cheaper. Any comments about SF's colored LEDs? Please I got to know
if I made a boo boo:huh:

I have a green one on a C2 body. Very bright! I like it best with the Beamshaper on, for a nice emerald flood beam.

I use it to hunt down mosquitos after lights out. The dark bugs contrast very well against ceilings and walls in the green light. Nothing worse than than trying to sleep when you hear that telltale whine.

Not too many mosquitoes here but there are flying beetles
that can cause high anxiety when you know their in your tent somewhere and might just go inside your ear. Scary too if their legs have one way barbs.

I wonder how it compares with a green L1?

I finally got the 3rd gen Green Kl3 early afternoon and coupled it to the M2, was
unimpressed by the spot it made on the white wall..not smooth, ringy and
has a small blank space in the center. But when night fell it was
"holy raygun Batman!" This thing throws an intimidating, wicked bright beam
far. Its my favorite new toy now. Gonna get another to strap on my
airgun.:naughty:

Don't know if SF offers them but if like green you might like cyan. I 5W cyan with a light stippled reflector is strong. Over 10K lux.

Where did you order it from?

Got it from Federal Army and Navy Surplus. sorry I dont know how to hyperlink but theyre on the web. They seem to be the only ones who stock them colored
KL3s. At first I called Surefire and like always everything is on backorder.
I find surefire frustrating these days. The green KL3 is great if not for the
rough beam face. Im reluctant to send it for replacement coz they either take
so so looooong or the replacement could be worse than the previous.
I just saw a pentagon light L2 3W green Luxeon for $72.00 which might not
have as much throw but the cost difference is ...well
