Is this laser good?

Price is attractive but wondering about its performance. All i can provide is the specs. Costs USD$120

It looks exactly the same as the one in these threads:

They faxed this spec for a 100mw model to my home today.

Additionally, i asked about the diode they used. They are using a 500ma diode. Is this thing supposed to use up 600ma current?

If you mean 500mW diode, then 600mA is about right. you can't tell how 'good' a laser is without a few mote tests and a look at its construction. but $120 for a 80 mW laser of that size, while not as stable or well built as a pglIIIA, is pretty good, yes.

Yes i would agree that this laser isn't stable at output. While playing with its 5mw version now, keeps dimming on its own.

Now have to decide getting this or pay more for the PGLIIIA.

the two 5mw's that i bought worked great out of the box. maybe i got lucky....
