There's no reason to try it, and good reason not to.

The lamp comes with a warning against using more than the the 4 batteries. Even if it didn't damage it, the thermal power management would hold the power down to the same power level as using the 4 cells.

What Empath said!

I'd consider putting a piece of 1" PVC Pipe and 7C cells.

Use a 5 cell Krypton bulb for a poor mans hotwire. Wait, that is using NimH. For alkaline Cs maybe a 6 cell Xenon....

That or run some kind of spacer and 4D.

Does the over voltage damage it or is it just as bright as 4 cells. That is what I am wondering. I dont know if this is :dedhorse: ???

I just tried a weakish purpleish/pinkish "2" cell M*gled with 3D. It got brighter (on par with the other 2 cell and one 3 cell I have. The tint also shifted better.

I believe it was a 3 cell M*gled in a 2 cell package, and so has NOTHING to do with your question.

I just believe it needed mentioning!
